- How have your experiences playing with Nightwish been?

Marvellous.

Performing “live” with the band is truly a colouful, intense experience and for want of a better word, Uplifting. Looking forward to doing more!

- What is your favorite Nightwish song?

At the moment, “Poet and the pendulum”. A wonderful piece…

- What do you think of Anette’s voice and style?

Well, I think she is a superb singer with a quite awe inspiring power. She is perfect for Nightwish. And, she has a wild collection of very high heeled shoes which involves great skill to balance on…

- Anette wrote in her blog that you two have a very nice friendship and that you are such a special person to her. Is there anything you’d like to say back to her?

Anette is my splendid friend and I love her. We always have a great time together and I can’t wait to see her again…so I would say back to her, like Uncle Monty, - ”Can’t you see that I ADORE you!!”

- What is the best memory you have of being on tour with Nightwish? And what is the worst?

Every moment on tour is an unstoppable rush of Big Fun with the band and my memories are ALL wondrous…The first time we played ‘Finlandia’ to open the show in Paris was very special; the worst are quite mild - generally involving hanging around in airports with an award winning hangover.

- Did you know Nightwish before your collaboration with them?

Yes, I had heard the album “Once”. My friend Pip does the orchestral arrangements for the band and sent to me a copy. I knew then that the band was something unique.

- What convinced you to play with Nightwish?

I didnt need any convincing..I could hardly wait to play those songs and even when I was recording them, we all thought it would be majestic to perform live. And it certainly is!

Silvia from Italy:

- Is it difficult to play live an instument like the one you play with a metal band like Nightwish?

No, it is very easy for me because I have never approached the pipes in a traditional way..I always wanted to do something different with them and metal, in a strange way that I can’t really explain, is a great place for them to sing. Plus, the metal audience seem to love them which is rather wonderful.

- You’ve become a pretty integral part of Nightwish now, at least DPP - how do you feel when you hear people screaming for YOU instead of just Tuomas etc? We made you a sign in Switzerland (yes, we were the English girls at the front with the multitude of signs) and you seemed pretty happy…

I was blown away! Jess and Naomi - you are brilliant! Empuu loved it too and it did get talked about. Yep, never had that happen before!

- The Bad Shepherds gig at Dingwalls was rescheduled - was that because of your commitments with Nightwish? We were very disappointed not to be able to go though we’re hopefully coming to see the Bad Shepherds sometime this summer, banners at the ready!

It was a drag to have to move the show but it wasnt due to Nightwish. Something to do with bad promotion. But I look forward to seeing you both again soon, somewhere down the road…

- Will you be a part of Nightwish’s final show in Helsinki? Has Tuomas expressed any interest in using your skills on the new album as well and would you do it if he asked?

Yes I am definitely doing the final show in Helsinki and will be poisoning myself with bizarre Finnish liqueurs at the End of Tour party.

Oh yes, I WILL be playing on the next album and from what Tuomas has told me, it is going to be something extraordinary….
